Bin Sticker Speed Initiative

Bin Sticker Speed Initiative

Leicestershire Police supported by the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Partnership and the Local Authorities, are promoting a "Bin Sticker" campaign across the Force area as a reminder to drivers to keep to the posted speed limit.

STICKERS ARE AVAILABLE FROM THE PARISH OFFICE

Please note:

  • Don't obscure any existing information on the bin
  • Only leave the bin out on collection days as normal
  • Place the bin with the sticker facing the oncoming traffic
  • It isn't necessary for every resident in a street to use a sticker
  • Streets visited by the Mobile Camera Vans are not eligible for this scheme due to signing and enforcement issues
  • Residents near a school or other advisory 20mph speed limit MUST NOT place a stickered bin out whilst the 20mph lights are in operation

Excess speed continues to be a major contributory factor in road collisions. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to reduce road casualties across our communities.
